The Need
Why continued investment in reproductive health matters.
India has made remarkable progress in improving reproductive, maternal and child health over the past decade. According to the National Family Health Survey (NFHS-6), modern contraceptive use has increased to 60.7%, while the unmet need for family planning has declined from 9.4% to 8.5%. These are important gains — but they still represent millions of women and couples whose reproductive intentions are not being met. Despite this progress:
